Mr. Bruce Conrad Holt

Mr. Bruce Conrad Holt, age 73 of Stuart, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on August 10, 1935 to the late Brockley and Clemmie Gilbert Holt. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by two brothers, James "Jim" Holt and William "Bill" Holt, and one sister, Dorothy Nowlin. He was a member of Smith River Church of the Brethren and was a self-employed carpenter and painter.
Mr. Holt is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Elgin Holt of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Anthony "Tony" Holt and Darlene of Woolwine, Benjamin Dean Holt and Sonyja of Wendell, North Carolina and Lawrence "Larry" Elgin Holt and Darlene of Forest, Virginia; five grandchildren, Justin Holt, Jacob Holt, Sarah Holt, Serena Holt and Suzanne Holt; and one sister, Lucille Holt Robertson of Ridgeway.
Funeral services for Mr. Holt will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Glenn Elgin and Rev. Luther Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
