Mr. Buddy Wade Culler

Mr. Buddy Wade Culler age 69 of 158 Circle View Road, Mt. Airy, NC passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born October 7, 1944 in Patrick County, VA to the late Grant and Madie King Culler. Mr. Culler was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Libby Faye Allen Culler of the home, a daughter, Shannon Sanders of Dobson, three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Slate and Robin of Mt. Airy, Ricky Culler and Lorie of King, NC and Chris Culler and Dee Dee of Winston-Salem, NC, 10 grandchildren, Heaven Clark, Nathen Culler, Matthew Culler, Justin Smith, Kristen Culler, Jordan Smith, Joseph Slate, Lindsey Culler, Stephen Sanders and Luke Slate, three great grandchildren, Lukas Culler, Torin Culler, and Olivia Smith and a expectant grandson. Wade, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Manuli of Dobson, Betty and George Johnson of Mt. Airy, and a brother and sister-in-laws, Ray and Betty Culler, Pilot Mountain and Nerina Culler, Ararat, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Culler was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Johnson and a brother, Bobby Culler. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2013 at Holly Springs Baptist Church where he will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The service will be conducted by Rev. Wayburn Mosley. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Full military rites will be held at the graveside by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mt. Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church, 374 Holly Springs Road, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
