Mr. Buel Green Woodie, Jr

Mr. Buel Green Woodie, Jr., age 77 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Woodie was born in Stokes County on April 9, 1936 to Buel Green Woodie, Sr. and Bessie Long Woodie. He served our country in the United States Army, was a retired truck driver and of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are his devoted wife of 55 years, Shelby Martin Woodie; a daughter, Debbie Woodie Dawson and fiancé Dwight Holder; a son, Lane Woodie and granddaughters, Jenna Woodie and Hunter Woodie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodie was preceded in death by sisters, Norma Collins and Grace Holt. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Collinstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Rev. Billy Moore. Military Honors will be by Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
