Mr. Butch Moricle

Mr. Butch Moricle, age 65, of Woolwine, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on April 9, 1952. He was preceded in death by his father, Lane A. Moricle, Sr.; and a sister, Lynette Moricle Morrison. He had been with Wood Brothers Racing for 45 years and loved animals, tractors, cars, and bluegrass music.

Surviving are his mother, Jo Hall Moricle of Woolwine; one brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Debbie Moricle of Woolwine; a brother-in-law, Ricky Morrison of Woolwine; nieces and nephews, Dusty Moricle and wife, Jessica, Shasta Harbour and husband, Jamie, Jansen Morrison, Braeden Morrison, Brad Morrison and wife, Kricket; great nieces and nephews, Lettie Moricle, Valley Harbour, Libby Harbour, Sam Harbour, Kinley Morrison, Oakley Moricle; and two aunts and uncles, Bernece and Glen Wood of Stuart, and Belle and Dudley Thompson of Roanoke.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O.
