Mr. C. Junior Parrish

Mr. C. Junior Parrish, age 81 of Claudville, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Guilford County, North Carolina on February 9, 1930 to the late Clyde and Emily Pruitt Parrish. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his first wife, Gracie Pruitt Parrish, his second wife, Orell Nelson Parrish; a son, J.C. Parrish; a brother, Bobby Parrish; and several half brothers and half sisters. He was a deacon and choir director in the Baptist faith for over 50 years, and was a member of Unity Church.
Mr. Parrish is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Parrish of Claudville; two sons, Jerry Parrish and wife, Wanda of Claudville, and Dale Parrish of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Jeff Parrish, Amy Parrish and Marcia Anderson; one step-grandson, Chris Gammons; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Parrish of Claudville; and two sisters, Margie Gammons and Faye Fain, both of Martinsville.
Funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Buford Jessup, Rev. Ricky Rogers and Rev. Robert Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsgrove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home.
