Mr. Carl Lee Banks

Mr. Carl Lee Banks, age 72 of Siler City, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on January 12, 1939 to the late Elroy William and Vergie Puckett Banks. In addition to his parents, Mr. Banks was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Banks and a sister, Lilly Mae Wheeler. He had served in the United States Army and had been a supervisor at Power Mills in Burlington, North Carolina. He enjoyed music, played the guitar and harmonica, and loved his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Banks is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Lee Banks and Chelsea of Greenville, North Carolina, Carl Lee Banks, Jr. and Jennifer of Sanford, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Parker Banks and Makenzie Banks; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Audrey Banks of Abington, Virginia and Leroy and Shirley Banks of Eden, North Carolina.
A graveside service for Mr. Banks will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Reed Island Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carl Lee Banks Memorial Fund, c/o Moody Funeral Home, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
