Mr. Carl F. Pack, 85, of Meadows of Dan passed away Sunday at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born on May 24, 1924 in Altavista to the late Bob and Sally Corena Lewis Pack. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Julia Gunter Pack; a grandson, Jeffrey Pack; one sister, Dorothy Boyd; and four brothers, Otis, John, Robert, and William Pack. Mr. Pack was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation with 32 years service; served in the US Army during WWII; was a member of Faith Baptist Church and VFW Post 8467.
Surviving are two daughters and a son in law, Hazel and Leonard Harris of Meadows of Dan, Frances Nester of Fancy Gap; three sons and daughters in law, Tommy and Ella Pack of Stuart, Lonnie Pack of Martinsville, Jimmy and Beverly Pack of Vesta; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one brother, Elroy Pack of Stuart; and two sisters, Madeline Marshall of Laurel Fork, and Pauline Watkins of Tampa, FL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors J.R. Vipperman and Jeremy Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
