Mr. Carroll David Flippin, age 83 of Westfield, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at his home. He was born in Franklin County, Virginia on March 31, 1923 to the late George Cladie and Emma Eddie Fuller Flippin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Flippin was preceded in death by his wife, Euna Ward Flippin; one daughter, Elaine F. Umphlett; and four brothers, Hubert, Ernest, Willie and Bob Flippin. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and had retired as a bookkeeper for the Stokes County schools maintenance department.
Mr. Flippin is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bill Johnson of Concord, North Carolina; three sons and daughters-in-law, David A. Flipppin, James Olen and Sandy Flippin, and Danny and Kaye Flippin, all of Westfield; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Collins of Toano, Virginia and Virginia Vaden of Danbury, North Carolina; and three brothers, Cladie Flippin of Stuart, Virginia Walter Flippin of Wake Forest, North Carolina; and Dale Flippin of Patrick Springs, Virginia.
Funeral services for Mr. Flippin will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, Stuart with Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
