Mr. Cecil W. Conner, Sr

Mr. Cecil Willie "Tex" Conner, Sr., age 83 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Floyd County on November 1, 1926 to the late Walter Thomas Conner and Mae Hubbard Conner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Conner was preceded in death by two brothers, Everette and Emmett Conner, and two sisters, Vivian Keith and Vera Belcher.
Mr. Conner is survived by two daughters, Modjorie Boyer of Willis and Jill Conner of Stuart; one son, Cecil Conner, Jr. of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Verna C. Belcher of Floyd.
A graveside service for Mr. Conner will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Boyd Family Cemetery with Revs. Jim Churchwell and Tommy Shepherd officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vesta Rescue Squad, P O Box 238, Vesta, VA 24177 or to the Boyd Family Cemetery c/o Betty Gardner.
