Mr. Cecil Edward Corns

Mr. Cecil Edward Corns, age 75 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007 at R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on September 5, 1931 to the late Samuel Edward and Lennis Hundley Corns. In addition to his parents, Mr. Corns was preceded in death by one son, Barry Dale Corns; one daughter, Beverly Gail Corns; one sister and six brothers. He was a self-employed farmer and construction worker, and a member of White Dove Baptist Church.
Mr. Corns is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elaine Woodall Corns of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Sammie Griffin of Stuart, Kaye and Garland Roberts of Stuart, and Connie and Daryle Martin of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Matthew Griffin and Kaitlyn Martin; and one sister, Ruby Smith of Lawsonville, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Mr. Corns will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. William Rorrer and Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home.
