Mr. Cecil Eugene Wise, Jr

Mr. Cecil Eugene Wise, Jr., age 70 of Claudville, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Burkburnett, Texas on December 15, 1938 to the late Cecil E. Wise, Sr. and Lodena Cody Wise. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wise was preceded in death by a brother, Rudy Turner. He was retired from the United States Navy and had been a bus driver for the Patrick County School System.
Mr. Wise is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou Hamm Wise of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Wade Hawks of Ararat, Thelma Wise and Victor Simmons of Asbury, North Carolina, Jody South of Claudville and Brad South of Ararat and Ginger Wise and Ralph Scales of Claudville; six grandchildren, Brian Hawks, Jason Gunnels, Taylore Childres, Adrian Mitchell, Joshua Wise and Nicole Wise; five great-grandchildren, Shawn Hawks, Brent Hawks, Joseph Gunnels, Jazlyn Gunnels and Kason Pinnix; two brothers-in-law, Jack W. Hamm, Jr. and Greg Bridie of Claudville; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Pinson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Alice Bridie of Claudville; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Heidi.
Funeral services for Cecil Eugene Wise, Jr. will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor David Heath officiating. Burial will follow in the Heath Family Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
