Mr. Charles Edward Earnest

Mr. Charles Edward Earnest, age 86, of Dobson, NC died on Monday evening April 25, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Webster Co. Mississippi on January 15, 1930 to the late Charlie Andrew and Dovie White Earnest. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Bradley Earnest; three sisters and three brothers. He was a retired Agriculture Extension Agent. He graduated from Cumberland High School, graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS Degree, and obtained a MA Degree from NC State University. Mr. Earnest was a member of Salem Fork Christian Church for over sixty years and faithfully attended as long as his health permitted. He was a devoted member of the Dobson Lions Club. Surviving is his loving wife for sixty years, Rachel Edmonds Earnest; one daughter and son-in-law Susan and Marc Tolbert of Asheboro; four grandchildren, Drew and his wife Jessica Earnest, Katie Tolbert, Ben Earnest, and Madison Tolbert; sister-in-law, Vera Mears; brother-in-law and his wife, Wayne and Kathryn Edmonds; sister-in-law, Nancy Edmonds and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Salem Fork Christian Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Pastor Austin Caviness will conduct the services. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to the church to lie in state 30 Min. before the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Todd Greenwood, the office staff of Nephrology, Dr. Thomas Shelburne and Staff, the Dialysis Centers in Elkin and Yadkinville, Home Instead Senior Care, Yadkin Valley Home Health and to the many friends and families in our community.
