Mr. Charles Nelson Stanley

Mr. Charles Nelson Stanley 68, of West End formerly of Mt. Airy passed away at his home Sunday, February 21, 2016. He was born in Patrick County, VA to the late Charles Wayne and Velvia Marshall Stanley. In the 70’s and 80’s, Mr. Stanley enjoyed showing and riding horses, wining many awards. He retired from Coram Construction and was an avid motorcyclist. He attended Middle Cross Baptist Church in West End. Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife, Betty Southard Puckett; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Stanley; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Stacey Bolen and Jennifer Nicole and Lonnie Tuttle; a much loved great granddaughter, Riley Lee Bolen; step children, Lynne Johnson and Frankie Puckett and wife, Starr; step grandchildren, James Johnson, Hailey Puckett, Austin Puckett, Courtney Pattillo and Makenna Taylor; step great grandchildren, Jamie Johnson and Hudson Puckett; sisters and brothers, Sandra Stanley, Allen Stanley, Ray Vernon and wife, Kathy, Tammy Sizemore and husband, Robbie; a special niece, Wina Harrell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Stanley and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
