Mr. Charles Edward Wright, age 63 of Stuart, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at his home. He was born in Henry County on February 8, 1950 to the late Luther Paul and Mayola Turner Wright. He had worked as a deputy sheriff with the Patrick County Sheriff's Department, as an Assistant Forest Warden and as a security guard, and had been the owner/operator of Wrights Asphalt Sealers. He had been a foster parent to 56 children.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Smith Wright of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry and Pam Wright of Axton, James Wright of Christiansburg; two daughters, Kristy Leigh Wright of Stuart and Jenny Wright of Alabama; one foster daughter, Melissa Hopkins of Martinsville; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia Cannaday of Stuart.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home. All other services will be private.
