Mr. Chester Campbell Snow, age 71, of Dobson passed away on Thursday June 19, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Surry County on May 30, 1937. He was a farmer and was of the Baptist Faith.
Chester loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and loved to work in his garden. He was a friend to every one who knew him. He was preceded by his step father William Andrew Barber and his mother Nannie Mae Barber; three brothers John, Ulysses, and Wayne Snow; by two step brothers Lloyd and Edgar Barber; by two special friends Kenneth Jester and Henry Speer. Surviving is his wife JoAnn Turner Snow of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law Tammy and Bruce Chapman of Dobson, Sheila and Ricky Childress of Elkin, Melissa and Michael Wilkins of Boonville, and Tonya and Jody Shelton of Pilot Mountain; by two sons and daughter-in-law Timothy and Becky Snow of Dobson, Darrell Snow also of Dobson; Twelve grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law Carrie and Everette Jenkins of Boonville; by one brother and sister-in-law P.D. and Faye Snow of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday June 22, 2008 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Curtis Ponder, Rev. Barlow Stanley, and Rev. Terry Coe will conduct the services. The Family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Saturday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the love and kindness given.
