Mr. Claude Lee Joyce, Sr

Mr. Claude Lee Joyce, Sr., age 86, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. He was born in Stuart, Virginia on May 17, 1931 to the late Watson Alexander Joyce and Wilma Lee Dalton Joyce. In addition to his parents Mr. Joyce was preceded in death by four brothers, Swanson Joyce, Glenn Joyce, Lawrence Joyce and Larry Joyce. Claude proudly served in the United States Army. After his military service, he went to work for Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. as an electrician and retired in 1995 with 41 years of service. Claude enjoyed gardening and being with his family and grandkids.

Claude leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Dixie Joyce of the home; his children; son, Claude Lee Joyce, Jr. of Newport News, Virginia; daughter, Susan C. Sieber and husband, Jim of Newport News, Virginia; step son, Ronald Holt of Stuart; step daughters, Kathy Kisamore and husband, Roy of Critz, Carolyn Holt of Stuart; five grandchildren Christopher Joyce and wife, Marissa, Ashley Joyce, Kayla Ayers, Jacob Kisamore, Gracen Kisamore; four great-grandchildren Ty, Avery, Oliva, and Layla; his brother Lloyd Joyce of Stuart; a brother-in-law, Charles Rakes and wife, Nancy of Stuart; his best friend and cat, Charlie; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Michael Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Aarons Corner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
