Mr. Clinton Marshall

Mr. Clinton Marshall, age 89 of Ararat, VA passed away at home Sunday, October 9, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Patrick County, VA on March 20, 1922 to the late Clearn and Loudelia Largen Marshall. Mr. Marshall served in the US Army during World War II. He was a successful, life-long farmer. Mr. Marshall is survived by a daughter, Jayne Marshall Brogdon of Kodak, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Leonard and Dr. Mary Ruth Marshall of Wilmington, NC, Troy Dean and Linda Marshall of Ararat, VA, Jason Dane and Arizona Marshall of New Bern, NC, Jason is currently stationed in Afghanistan; twelve grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters and a brother-in-law, Nellie Marshall Bowman of Bassett, VA and Mable Marshall Thompson of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his wife, Callie Mae Marion Marshall; a grandson, Craig Clinton Marshall; sisters, Ernie Quesinberry Edwards, Mary Mankins, Haley Fowler and Hattie Bowman; brothers, Sherman, Jesse, Cannie and Frank Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Churchwell and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Terry officiating. Burial will follow at the Marshall Cemetery in Ararat with full military honors by VFW Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, 5082 Ararat Hwy, Ararat, VA 24053, or to Ararat Rescue Squad, 4690 Ararat Hwy, Ararat, VA, 24053, or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
