Mr. Clyde Cecil Dickens

Mr. Clyde Cecil Dickens, age 95 of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the home. Mr. Dickens was born in Carroll County, VA on March 5, 1916 to the late Neil and Grace Dickens. He was a retired general contractor from Salem, VA. Surviving are his wife, Laura Ester Dickens of the home, a grandson, Charles Calvin Gunter and wife Vickie of Salem, three step daughters, Barbara and Dean Bledsoe, Marsha Felts and Debbie and Ricky Simmons, a step son, Albert and Connie Anders, three great grandchildren, Ceil and wife Katie Gunter, Ramsey and Kyndal Gunter; several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dickens was preceded in death by a wife, Belva Horton Dickens, a son, Carroll Dickens, a daughter, Joan Gunter, a step daughter, Betty Russell, two brothers, Oden Dickens and Brad Dickens and a step-son-in-law, Robert Felts. Services for Mr. Dickens will be private.
