Mr. Clyde Estridge Lee Ratliff, age 84 of Stuart, and formerly of Boston, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. He was born in Patrick County on May 8, 1933 to the late Dimon Lee Ratliff and Verna Etta Cassell Ratliff. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ratliff was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Rose Kappel Ratliff; and a brother, Guy Ratliff. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a retired construction superintendent.
Mr. Ratliff is survived by two sons, Terry Ratliff (Rhonda) of Ridgeway and Todd Ratliff of Bardstown, Kentucky; four daughters, Cindy Burton (Lloyd) of New Haven, Kentucky, Kaye Simpson (Harry) and Brenda Downs (Mike) of Bardstown, Kentucky, and Vickie Mardis (Fred) of Lexington Township, Indiana; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Grady Ratliff of Bassett, Coy Ratliff of Patrick Springs and Eddie Ratliff of Fieldale; and seven sisters, Alice Young of Collinsville, Barbara Holt of Bassett, Mary Sigmon of Collinsville, Geraldean Smith and Myrtle Smith of Bassett, Carol Martin and Dot Shough of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. J.D. Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
