Mr. Clyde McDaniel Tate

Mr. Clyde M. Tate, 85, of Mount Airy, died Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He retired from Lynne Hosiery. He was an accomplished guitar player who often volunteered his time at churches and nursing homes. He will be remembered for his generosity and concern for his relatives and friends. He is survived by a brother, Ralph Tate; two sisters, Geneva Freeman, and Christine Pack, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Tate; his parents, Daniel Ernest Tate and Josie Ann Akers Tate; a sister, Virginia McIntyre; and two brothers, Guy James Tate and Arnold Eugene Tate. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rusty Reed. The family will receive friends Thursday at Moody Funeral Home beginning at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in Church of Corinth Cemetery.
