Mr. Curtis "Warren" Fain

Mr. Curtis “Warren” Fain, age 81 of Woolwine, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on January 30, 1936 to the late James Preston Fain and Evna Belcher Fain. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fain was preceded in death by a brother, James Calvin Fain; a sister, Ethel Fain; and a nephew, Calvin Harding Fain.

Warren retired from Liberty Fabrics in 1998 after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a founding charter and lifetime member of the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department Company #24 since 1973. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and was a football and basketball enthusiast. He enjoyed many years of fishing and the simple life. He worshipped at Woolwine United Methodist Church.
Warren is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Hodges Fain; sisters-in-law, Esther Fain, Linda and Odell Midkiff, Ruby Nester, Shirley and Tony Belcher; brother-in-law, Wayne Hodges; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special cousins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Woolwine United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandy Wright officiating and eulogy by Tim Belcher. Burial will follow in the Woolwine Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 138, Woolwine, Virginia 24185 or to the Woolwine Cemetery Fund, c/o Garland Cockram, 9515 Woolwine Hwy., Woolwine, Virginia 24185. Special thanks to Smith River Rescue Squad and to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care of Stuart, and nurse Pam Roark for her support during the last few weeks. Carol, his wife, would like to thank all of the friends, co-workers, neighbors and family for their love, visits, prayers and support given to her through this difficult time.
