Dallas King Clark, age 89, who was a resident of the Landmark Center in Stuart, passed away Monday, September 25, 2006 at R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on December 10, 1916 to the late Bud and Allie V. Biggs Clark. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Stowe Clark; two sons, Bobby Clark and Billy King Clark; and four brothers, Marion Clark, Joseph Lee Clark, George Clark, and an infant brother. He retired from United Elastic Corporation and was a longtime member of Concord United Methodist Church.
Mr. Clark is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bill Burkett of Blue Ridge, Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Gayna Clark of Stuart; three grandchildren, Jay Burkett, and wife, Cathy, Jamie Clark, and wife, Charlotte, and Misty Pace, and husband, Darrell; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Annie Sue Hawks of Stuart, Dorothy Mills of Martinsville, Martha Hutchens of Stuart, Mae Martin of Lawsonville, North Carolina; and Della Hawks of Martinsville; one brother, Clarence Clark of Roanoke; and his extended family in the Landmark Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Clayton and Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
