Mr. Dalmer Lee Heath

Mr. Dalmer Lee Heath, age 69 of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Heath was born in Surry County on July 13, 1942 to the late Roy Lee and Hessie Mae Eaton Heath. He was full of life and enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Mr. Heath was employed with Pine State, Lowes Food and Food Lion before retiring from Bottom Dollar and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Delilah Midkiff Heath of the home; three daughters, Leigh Ann Heath, Kimberly Garcia and Susan Heath all of Galax, VA; three step sons and their wives, Andy and Melissa Vernon, Jon and Suzanne Vernon all of Mt. Airy, Bart and Dusty Vernon of N. Salt Lake, UT; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Alice and Perry Cooke of Pilot Mountain and Teresa and Junior Bowman of King and many special friends from Bottom Dollar. In addition to his parents, Mr. Heath was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Heath and a step son, Tim Vernon. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Trent Lyons. Burial will follow in Midkiff Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
