Mr. Dan Devaughn Miller

Dan Devaughn Miller of Thurmond, NC was born March 9, 1934 and passed away November 20, 2017. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who served in the US Navy and was married to Peggy Nixon Miller for 62 years.

Dan is survived by his wife, Peggy Nixon Miller; children: Reginia Miller Wolfe (David) of Thurmond, NC and Dennis Miller (Patti) of Thurmond, NC; grandchildren: Candice Dimmette of Hilton Head Island, SC, Laura Hazelwood (Josh) of Dobson, NC, Olivia Miller of Boone, NC, Wendi Wolfe of Roaring Gap, NC, Wanda Bingaman (Rich) of Greenville, NC, and Erin Kurland (Josh) of Mt. Airy, MD; great-grandchildren: Brady Hazelwood, Ryan Bingaman, Bryson Bingaman, Marley Wolfe, and Nixon Kurland; sisters: ReElla Ball of State Road, NC, Mary Lou Sidden of State Road, NC, Emelene Miller of Elkin, NC, and Helen Nixon (Larry) of McLeansville, NC; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins he loved and adored. He is proceeded in death by his parents: Walter James and Helen Burcham Miller; in-laws, Claude Manuel and Lillian Lewis Nixon; brothers and sisters: Jim Miller (Lois), Fred Sidden, Edworth Nixon (Rosalina), Donald Miller, Vernon Ball, and Donna Nixon. There will be a graveside service with military rites with the Veterens of Foreign Wars Post 2019 at 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 22 ,2107 in Mountain Park Cemetery with Reverend Mark Reece officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 5-7 PM following the service at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson
