Mr. Daniel Mikolay

Mr. Daniel Stephen Mikolay, 21 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Mikolay was born in Surry County on October 25, 1994 to Amanda Fletcher Mikolay Slate and the late Thomas Alexander Mikolay. Daniel is survived by his Granny and Pa, whom he made his home with, Ricky and Peggy Hall of Mt. Airy; his mother and step-father, Amanda and David Lee Slate, Sr. of Mt. Airy; sister, Lexi Mikolay of Chicago, IL; brothers, Justin Lee Slate of Mt. Airy, Nathan Dakota Slate of Mt. Airy, Brandon Slate of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dustin Slate of Mt. Airy, David Lee Slate, Jr., of Mt. Airy, and Thomas Mikolay of Chicago, IL; aunt and uncle, Richie and Penny Haynes of Mt. Airy; special great uncle, Jack Hall of Ararat, NC, a great aunt and uncle, Ronnie and Linda Lee of Mt. Airy; cousins, Gray and Amy Haynes of Mt. Airy and Mackenzie Haynes of Mt. Airy. In addition to his father, Daniel was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Billy Gray Jackson and Sarah Jo Jackson. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Barry O’Neal, Rev. Ray Hutson, and Mr. Richie Haynes officiating with burial to follow at The Community Church. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-2 at the funeral home.
