Mr. Darren James Edward Brady, 41, of Dobson passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Surry County on May 10, 1972 to James Albert and Geraldine Edwards Brady. Mr. Brady was employed by Hardy Farms, of Dobson, owned by Ricky Hardy who was not only his employer but his special friend. He was a 1991 graduate of North Surry High School and of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Lisa York Brady, of the home; two beloved daughters, Heather Brady and her fiancé, Casey Parks and Hannah Brady; his loving parents, James Albert and Geraldine Edwards Brady of Mount Airy; sister-in- law, Lona York of Elkin; a brother-in-law, Alfred York of Lowgap; his mother-in-law, Linda Ross York of Elkin; many special friends, including, Daniel and Charity Galyean and their children, Ken, Isaiah and Peyton of Dobson; Kenneth and Martha Pierce of Dobson, Buster Roberts, and Denton Payne; five nieces; a nephew; two aunts, Sandra "Sandy" Edwards of Virginia and Peggy Frye of King. Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clearance and Rushie Edwards; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Isabelle Brady and his father-in-law, Dwight York. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday July 15, 2013 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Rev. Chris Oakley and Kenneth Pierce with burial to follow in White Rock cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm.
