Mr. Daryl Reid Davidson

Mr. Daryl Reid Davidson, age 71 of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Fred and Nettie Skidmore Davidson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Davidson. He was a retired dock worker for Yellow Freight.
Mr. Davidson is survived by his wife, Patricia Albright Davidson, of the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart; one daughter and son-in-law, Darla and John Thompson of Ararat; two grandchildren, John Lee Thompson, Jr. and Patrick Daryl Thompson; two brothers, James Davidson of Greensboro, NC and Charles Hill of Marshville, North Carolina; and two sisters, Alma Walker of Stanley, North Carolina and Wilma Smith of Dallas, North Carolina.
A memorial service for Mr. Davidson will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Greens Funeral Home on York Road in Gastonia. Local arrangements are being handled by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activities Department at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center, P.O. Box 459, Stuart, Virginia 24171 or to the Patrick County High School Baseball or Football Teams, 215 Cougar Lane, Stuart, Virginia 24171 in honor of Mr. Davidson's grandchildren.
