Mr. David Terrell Haynes

Mr. David Terrell Haynes, age 57, of Dobson passed away on September 18, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County, NC on October 22, 1959 to the late Davis Monroe Haynes and the late Peggy Terrell Haynes. David was very passionate about the community. He was quick to give and offer a helping hand to anyone he could. He will forever be remembered for his love of agriculture, being the Surry County Farm Bureau president as well as serving on the North Carolina Farm Bureau State Board. He made a lasting impact on numerous young people, especially on the softball field and in the livestock showing community. Serving as the Assistant Livestock Superintendent for the Dixie Classic Fair, he touched the lives of many families with his kindness, and fun, outgoing and loving personality. He had a way of making everyone he met feel loved and special and never met a stranger. He will be missed but we find comfort in knowing we will see him again one day. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, DeAnne McCormick of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Sean Johnson; his mother-in-law, Peggy McCormick; and a great-great-aunt, Edith Snow Fulk. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Cory Honeycutt and Rev. Dan Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in support of NC 4-H Youth Livestock programs.
