Mr. Delmar Franklin Wood

On November 16th, 2011 Delmar Franklin Wood, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 72 years. He worked as a farmer all his life, and enjoyed being in the outdoors; hunting with his dogs, riding his tractor, and enjoyed reading a good book. He and his wife shared an avid love for baseball with his favorite team being the Phillies and hers being the Yankees. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke we all wanted to listen. He always encouraged others to live their lives with honesty, dignity, and to face their truth. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Rogers Wood, of the home and his two sons and daughters-in-law; Jon Paul and Chrissy Wood of Dunn, NC and Dr. Jamie and Maria Wood of Eagan, MN, his 3 grandchildren; Tristan Wood, Emma Wood, and Noah Wood. Also his siblings; James Wood of Dobson, Mary Willard of East Bend, Betty Tobler of Mt. Airy, L.V. Wood of East Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Eliza Wood, his sister Rita Ann Wood, and an infant brother. His funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday November 20, 2011 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Brother Barlow Stanley and Rev. Lannie Atkins with burial to follow in Mount Herman Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday.
