Mr. Dennis Keith Hutchens

Mr. Dennis Keith Hutchens, age 68, of Elkin, NC, formerly of Dobson, NC passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. He was born in Surry Co. on December 13, 1948 to the late Robert and Ramona Midkiff Hutchens.He was retired from the Surry County Government Center and was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lou White Hutchens; and brothers, Kenneth Hutchens and Larry Hutchens. Surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Chuck Atkins of Dobson; Joy Diane and Brian Key of Siloam, NC; four grandchildren, and one on the way, Ashley Shumate, Brittany Marsh, Cody Atkins, Tyler Holloway; four great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Shumate, Elizabeth Marsh, Ella Marsh, Elijah Marsh. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Dobson First Baptist Church, with burial in the Welcome View Baptist Church Cemetery. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home until carried to Dobson First Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of his service. Rev. Tony White and Rev. Barry O’Neal will officiate the service. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Mental Health Association, 301 E. Washington St., Suite 111, Greensboro, NC 27401.
