Mr. Dennis Wade Jones, 65, of Winston Salem passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Friday, January 8, 2016. He was born in Surry County on October 11, 1950 to Elza Combs Jones and the late Berna Edward “Sol” Jones. Always greeting everyone with his warm smile, Dennis was a wonderful son, brother and uncle, and friend. He constantly was concerned for the needs of others before his own. Dennis was a member of Paul’s Creek Baptist Church. Dennis is survived by his mother, Elza C. Jones of the home; sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda Gail and Gary Leftwich of Cana, VA and Charlotte Jones of Myrtle Beach, SC; twin brother, Danny Jones of Cana, VA and brother and sister-in-law, Delmer “Bo” and Debbie Jones of King; ten nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews, two special, Landon and Mady who visited every week; and one great-great niece and two great-great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Paul’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McCreary officiating. Burial will follow in the Jesse Jones Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral home in Mt. Airy on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where his body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Jesse Jones Family Cemetery, c/o Helen Vaughn, 1165 Epworth Rd., Cana, VA 24317.
