Mr. Dennis Wade Patterson

Mr. Dennis Wade Patterson, 73, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on June 19, 1943 to the late Oscar and Loraine Midkiff Patterson. Mr. Patterson was retired from US Postal Service and was a member of Union Hill Friends Church. He loved music and was a member of the SCC Chorus, Voce’, and the Mountain Valley Hospice Choir. Mr. Patterson served our country in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Puckett Patterson of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Bethany and Doug Shepherd of Dobson, Misti and Chris Mauldin of White Plains; grandchildren, Cole and Carson Mauldin, Abigail and Sarah Shepherd; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Roger Keck; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Susan Patterson all of Mt. Airy. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Union Hill Friends Church with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain the Rev. Fonda Younger and the Rev. Ernest Brown officiating the service. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 PM until time for the service at the church. The family would like to give a special thank you to Jenn Easter and Karen Sanders for the love and care given to Dennis during his illness.
