Mr. Dennis Clyde Rippey

Mr. Dennis Clyde Rippey, age 54 of Cana, VA, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Mr. Rippey was born in Surry County on January 12, 1961 to Frances Chaney Rippey Willard and the late Junior Rippey. He was employed with Woods Produce and attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving is his devoted wife, Joni Woodring Rippey; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Jason Holdaway, Samantha and James Hicks; sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tracy Rippey, and Jonathan Rippey; a step son Danny Willard; grandchildren, Isaac Rippey, Owen Rippey, Lucy Rippey, Caleb Rippey, Kaitlyn Edwards, Jaelyn Holdaway, Brady Hicks, Madison Hicks and Mason Hicks; his mother and step father, Frances R. and Otis Willard; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Charles McMillian; brothers, Steve Rippey and Jimmy Rippey, his mother-in-law, Elsie Woodring and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Rippey was preceded in death by a step son, Jeremy Willard and his father-in-law, Thomas Woodring. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home beginning at noon and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Services will be conducted by the Rev. David Sechrist and the Rev. Brian Frazier. Burial will follow in the Easter-Rippey Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and especially caregivers, Becky Davis, Paige Combs, Amanda Owens and Pam Cloud for their special loving care during Mr. Rippeys illness.
