Mr. Dewey Ray Hughes

Mr. Dewey Ray Hughes, age 73 of Stuart, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on February 15, 1937 to the late Hampton and Nannie Crisman Hughes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by one son, Larry Hughes; four brothers, Murray Hughes, Ted Hughes, Glenn Hughes and Harry Lee Hughes; and one sister, Virginia Lancaster. He had worked for Aerial Machine & Tool Corporation.
Mr. Hughes is survived by five children, Randy Hughes, Marie Hughes and Steve Hughes, all of Stuart, Hampton Hughes of Patrick Springs and Hope Hughes Tingler of Goodview, Virginia; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Howard Hughes of Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Reggie Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Hughes Family Cemetery in Trot Valley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
