Mr. Donald Dean Davis

Mr. Donald Dean Davis, age 88, of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at Baptist Hospital. Mr. Davis was born in Surry County on May 26, 1928 to the late Edwin Arthur Davis and Mallie Aliene Smith Davis. Mr. Davis proudly served our country in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Georgia Throckmorton Davis of the home; a son William Edwin Davis and fiancée Melissa Spicer of Cana; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Moseley and Russell of King; three grandchildren, Autumn Davis, Shane Moseley, and Melody Moseley; two sisters Faye Davis Cook of Clinton, SC and Eddie Davis Thomas of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church at 2 PM with Pastor Joseph Kossan officiating with burial to follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2591 Wards Gap Rd., Mt. Airy, North Carolina 27030.
