Mr. Donald Verlon Marshall

Mr. Donald Verlon Marshall, 62, passed away Saturday night, September 15, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem from complications of pneumonia. Mr. Marshall was born in Surry County on April 13, 1950 to Lola Virginia Galyean Marshall and the late Vinyard Verlon Marshall. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. In addition to his mother, Mr. Marshall is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Donald Alan Shoaf of Lowgap; a son, Ronald Marshall of Mt. Airy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Glenda Carter of Lake Norman, Judy and Don Fulda of Radcliff, KY and Janice and C.W. Newman of Dobson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Lee and Kay Thomas, Arlis and Ann Thomas all of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with the Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
