Mr. Donald Gray Ramey, Sr

Mr. Donald Gray Ramey, Sr., age 77, of Lowgap, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at Northern Hospital. Mr. Ramey was born in Surry County on August 26, 1935 to Garner and Mamie Galyean Ramey. He was retired from ABF Trucking and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Surviving are his devoted wife, Barbara Pender Ramey of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and David Martin of Walkertown; a son, Gray Ramey of Kernersville; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Ramey of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Melissa Ramey, Daniel Ramey, Shelbie Ramey, Casey Martin and wife Kimberly and Amber Martin; a great grandson Nathan Ryan; and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Dick and Imogene Ramey of Lowgap and Margie Ramey also of Lowgap. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by a brother, Lindy Ramey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Danny Johnson. Burial will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home of Mt. Airy and at other times at the family's residence in Lowgap
