Mr. Donald LeRoy Sall



Mr. Donald LeRoy Sall, age 79 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at his home. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 6, 1931 to the late Bob and Elsie Rainwater Sall. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sall was preceded in death by his wife, Eleonore Fortsch Sall, and one brother, Robert Sall. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he was a Demolition Specialist. He retired from New York Telephone Company as a Power Engineer, and had been a Handicapper with Flemington Speedway in Flemington, New Jersey. He was a Past Master, Treasurer, District Educational Officer, and on the Blood Drive Committee of Mountain Home Lodge #263 in Stuart; a Past Master and Grand Chaplain of Jerusalem Lodge #26 in Plainfield, New Jersey; a member of Kazim Shrine Temple in Roanoke serving as a Roadrunner for transporting children to Children's Hospitals in Cincinnati, Ohio and Greenville, South Carolina; a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville; and had been a Blood Drive coordinator with the American Red Cross for over 17 years.
Mr. Sall is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Robert K. and Diane Sall of New Egypt, New Jersey and Gerard P. and Sharon Sall of Edison, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Christopher Sall, Danielle Sall, Robert Sall, Jr., Lindsey Sall; and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Barry Clement, Rev. Eugene Payne, and Jim Love officiating. Entombment will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard and Masonic rites by Mountain Home Lodge 263. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 1081 Spruce St., Martinsville, VA 24112.
