Mr. Donnie Dexter Ore

Mr. Donnie Dexter Ore, age 65 of Spencer, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was born in Patrick County on April 22, 1944 to the late James Marshall and Pearlie Austin Ore. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ore was preceded in death by one brother, James Albert Lee Ore. He was a member at Mayo Christian Church, and had worked for Bassett Walker Industries.
Mr. Ore is survived by one daughter, Janet Ore Harvey of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four sisters, Jewel Wilson of Fancy Gap, Shirley Keene of Stuart, Carolyn Burtchette of Bardstown, Kentucky and Linda Conner of Martinsville.
A memorial service for Mr. Ore will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
