Mr. Douglas M. Nowlin

Mr. Douglas M. Nowlin, age 71, of Stuart passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at his home. He was born in Danville, VA on May 13, 1944 to the late Charlie E. Nowlin and Lillie “Laura” Penn Nowlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Penny O’Neal; and a brother, Rev. James “Dobbie” Nowlin. Mr. Nowlin had been a Heavy Equipment operator for many years and had attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Griffith Nowlin of the home; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Stella and James Hairston of Eden, NC, Linda and Willie Clark of Martinsville, Janice Nowlin of Patrick Springs, Sandra Nowlin of Stuart, Ann and David Watlington of Belews Creek, NC; one brother, Leroy Nowlin of Patrick Springs; and a nephew and several nieces.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Douglas Scales officiating. Burial will follow in the Loggins Family Cemetery.
