Mr. Duncan Baxter Ingram

Mr. Duncan Baxter Ingram, 80 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, September 08, 2016 at his home. He was born in Richmond County on March 7, 1936 to the late John Matherson Ingram and Bessie Webb Ingram. Mr. Ingram was a retired lineman from Duke Power after many years of dedicated service and was a member of Holy Cross Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Fonda Sue Smith and Bobby of West Augusta, VA; a son and a daughter-in-law, Merle Ingram and Tamela of Pinnacle, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Smith Wonderley and Jon, Gabrielle Smith Nogra and Ruperto “Tiger”, Joshua Smith, Brooke Smith, and Hannah Grace Ingram; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Wonderley, Virginia Rose Wonderley, and Javan Alex Nogra; sisters, Neallie Ingram Sparks of Mt. Airy, and Georgia and Bill Gathings of Derby, KS. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by three brothers, John E. Ingram, William Frank Ingram, and Watt H. Ingram; three sisters, Hattie Ingram Johnson, Fannie Ingram Tucker and Nannie Ingram. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Holy Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. Butch Holder and Rev. Timothy Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 12, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
