Mr. Early James Eaton

Mr. Early James Eaton, age 88, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Hinkle House in Lexington, NC after an extended illness. He was born in Surry County on March 11, 1928 to the late Rufus and Belva Caroline Towe Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist where he attended as long as his health permitted. Mr. Eaton was a retired Processor for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after many years of dedicated service. He was a Godley man having lived his life in service to the Lord and his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Karl Riehs of Dothan, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Samuel E. and Martha Eaton of Winston-Salem; four beloved grandchildren, James Eaton, Jason Eaton both of Winston-Salem, Alicia Downey of Panama City, FL and Brandon Riehs of Dothan, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years on June 4, 2016; a son, Donald Gray Eaton; four sisters, Forrest Cook, Eunice Brown, Lorene King, Josephine Lineback and Catherine Jennings; and a brother, Clarence Eaton. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Barlow Stanley, the Rev. Samuel Eaton and the Rev. Victor Pyles. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors and loved ones for their love, prayers and every act of kindness show during the sickness of Mr. Eaton.
