Mr. Edmund Reeves Greer

Mr. Edmund Reeves Greer, age 90 of Lynchburg, and formerly of Patrick County, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Runk and Pratt Assisted Living Center in Lynchburg. He was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on August 24, 1921 to the late Alfonso A. and Doris Billings Greer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy June Grindstaff Greer; one son, Barton Greer; one brother, Abner Greer; and two sisters, Bobbie Edmisten and Masie Barton. He had served in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of Blue Ridge Community Church in Lynchburg and had been a principal at Stuart Elementary School.
Mr. Greer is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ted and Polly Greer of Stuart, Tracy Greer of Lynchburg, and Jim and Nancy Greer of Rome, Georgia; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Greer of Bennettsville, South Carolina; and one sister, Corine Greer of Statesville, North Carolina.
