Mr. Edwin Arthur Camin

Mr. Edwin Arthur Camin, age 86, of Mt. Airy passed away on Sunday, January 21 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Camin was born in Dunmore, PA to the late George Edwin Camin and Helen Decker Camin. He was a member of the Dobson Church of Christ. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Perkins Camin and sister, Nancy Jean Camin Thoman. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Camin, three sons; George Warren (Corky) Camin and wife, Judy; David Edwin Camin and wife, Renee; and Robert Warren Camin and wife Donna. Three grandsons, Jason Gregory Camin and wife, Erin; Andrew Warren Camin and wife, Yoomee; Christopher Lee Camin and one granddaughter, Katherine Camin Farrow and husband, Sgt. Joshua Farrow. Five great-grandchildren, Kamerin Gregory Camin; Nikita Marie Farrow, Anastasia Hope Farrow, Briana Love Farrow and Celeste Alore Farrow. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Camin proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the US Air Force. Mr. Camin retired from IBM after 25 years of service. He was active in many hobbyist and community groups throughout his life including Amateur Radio Association, Kiwanis, Elks, Jaycee, Surry Arts Council, Red Cross, Boys Club, Boy Scouts, Mt. Airy Art League, Historical Society and Low Gap Wildlife Club. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb 10 for the residents of Ridgecrest Retirement Community. A Celebration of Life service followed by visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, Feb 11 at 12:00 pm at the Dobson Church of Christ and is open to all Ed’s family and friends.
