Mr. Ernest "Ernie" Wayne Voncannon

Mr. Ernest "Ernie" Wayne Voncannon, age 67 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Voncannon was born in Surry County, July 13, 1944 to William Wayne and Grace Ernestine Pointon Voncannon. He served our country in the United States Navy on the USS Forestal and was retired from Winn-Dixie. Surviving is a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Benny Faw of Mt. Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Voncannon of Winston-Salem; nieces and nephews and special friends, Lonnie and Wanda Midkiff. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Midkiff Cemetery by Bro. Ken Aman. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time of the service at Moody Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Nancy and Benny Faw at 120 Broadway Ave.
