Mr. Esmond Dewey Hall

Mr. Esmond Dewey Hall (79) of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 after a short illness. He was born in Patrick County, Virginia to Dewey and Verda Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard C. Hall, Sr. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Louise Hall, four daughters and sons-in-Law: Nancy & Lewis Largen, Sherry & Peter Spring, Betty & Steve Lineberry, Teresa & David Lyons; five grandchildren: Brittany, Christopher, Ashleigh, Lori and Zach; two great-grandchildren: Katie and Jacob; and a special nephew, Walter "Tudor" Bowman. His two special friends were Scooter and Satchmo. He served in the United States Army between June 17th 1951 and May 3rd 1956, during the Korean War. Esmond was a devoted husband and father who provided tirelessly for his family. He worked all of his life as a dairy and cattle farmer; working long hours every day, growing and harvesting hay for his livestock. He also thoroughly enjoyed fixing up old Ford trucks.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, Virginia with Pastors Lonnie Hylton and Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
