Mr. Eugene Madison Lawless

Mr. Eugene Madison Lawless, age 88 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on May 24, 1920 to the late Abe and Myrtle Foley Lawless. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawless was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Pendleton Lawless, one sister, Katherine Lovins; two brothers, Ira and Owen Lawless; and one daughter-in-law, Sandy Lawless.
Mr. Lawless is survived by one son, Larry Lawless of Stuart; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and W. C. Haden of Stuart; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, A. C. Lawless and Truman Lawless, both of Stuart and Kenneth Lawless of Bassett; and three sisters, Doritha Lawson and Cornelia Lawson, both of Stuart, and Shirley Tatum of Ferrum.
Funeral services for Mr. Lawless will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
