Mr. Eugene E. Murphy, Sr

Mr. Eugene E. Murphy, Sr. 62 of Bassett passed away Friday at his home. He was born on December 31, 1947 in Greenbriar Co. West Virginia to the late Paul Marcus and Anna Lee Dobson Murphy. He worked for Hanover Direct in Roanoke, Va. Mr. Murphy was also preceded in death by a son; Lacy Mckinney and a sister, Judy Murphy.
Surviving Mr. Murphy is a Daughter; Jackie Day and husband Todd of Stuart, a son; Eugene E. Murphy, Jr. and fiance Lisa Deal of Bassett, five grandchildren; Melinda Day, Daniel Murphy, Andrew Day, Brianna Murphy and Kateland McKinney, a sister; Ella Zickafoose of West Virginia, three brothers; Richard Murphy of Richmond, Jerry Murphy of West Virginia and Randall Murphy of Richmond and a daughter-in-law Margaret McKinney.
Funeral services for Mr. Murphy will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Randy Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow at Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
