Mr. Everett Lee Hawks

Mr. Everett Lee Hawks, age 86, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016, at his home. Mr. Hawks was born in Carroll County on November 4, 1929, to Clever Clifton and Emmaline Tate Hawks. He was a devoted member of Paul’s Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Hawks will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Surviving is his loving wife, Cora Edwards Hawks; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Carol Hawks; grandchildren, Tracey Blum and husband Danny, and Andy Hawks and wife Tonya; great grandson, Devon Blum; and a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Dan Inman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by sisters, Frankie Thomas and Orene Hawks and by brothers, Odell Hawks, Junior Hawks and Jackie Hawks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Paul’s Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Tony Holder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Blue Ridge Home Health Care, Deborah Hunter, Juliana Nichols, RN., Dr. John Tracy and special friends, Connie Cagle and Vickie Hall.
