Mr. Forris Clifton Thompson

Forris Clifton Thompson, 82 of Dobson North Carolina passed away Saturday October 27, 2007. He was born in Mebane, N.C. to the late Michael Everret and Dicie Simmons Thompson. Forris was retired from Thompson Textiles Inc. and Purl II Hosiery in Dobson. He was a member of Dobson United Methodist Church, Dobson Lions Club, Mt. Airy Elks and Life Member of Mt. Airy DAV. Surviving is his wife of 59 years Claudia Slate (Judy) Thompson; three sons Gary Thompson Sr. and wife Darlene, Harold (Roky) Thompson and wife Linda and Timothy Thompson; nine grandchildren Michelle Hudson, Gary Thompson Jr., Mickey Thompson, Michael Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Danny Shew and Joe Shew and Johnny Shew; six great grandchildren; one sister Arlene Wagstaff of Florida; four brothers and sisters-in-laws Louis Thompson of South Dakota, Thomas and Betty Thompson of South Carolina, Foy and Hedy Thompson of Georgia and Ted Thompson of California. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday October 31, 2007 at Dobson United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Katherine Early. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral home until carried to the church to lie in state 30 min. before the service. Burial will be at Skyline Memory Gardens with Military Honors by the Mt. Airy DAV. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 PM.
